Robert L. Hillberg, CPA, PFS

After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Science Degree and an MBA in accounting and finance, Rob began his career in public accounting as a Staff Accountant at Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, CPAs in 1977. In 1980, he was promoted to Senior Accountant. Late in1980, Rob joined his father at Hillberg & Co. CPAs as a partner. Rob added the designation of Personal Financial Specialist, an AICPA credential, to his list of accomplishments in 2001. While he is well versed in all areas of public accounting, he specializes in financial planning, estate planning and business consultation. Rob is a trusted business advisor in the agriculture, manufacturing, retail and service industries.

Rob is a member of the American institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. His community involvement includes but is not limited to being a member of the Turlock Sunrise Rotary and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Rob and his wife, Sherrill, have two sons, Brent and Jeff. Rob enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and reading.

Lisa Muller Roesch, CPA

Lisa graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting and finance. She was hired by Seidman & Seidman in 1987 as a Staff Accountant and went to Grant Thornton in 1989 when she relocated to the central valley. In 1990, she joined Hillberg & Co., CPAs. Throughout the years, Lisa acquired experience in the private sector of the agriculture industry. Additionally, her experience includes income tax preparation and research. Lisa specializes in estates as well as the construction and auto industries.

Lisa is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is the Treasurer of the Turlock Christian Boosters and active with Upward Basketball, Central Valley Aquatics and Calvary Baptist Church, along with being a supporter of the Westside Ministries and CSUS Alumni Association.

Lisa and her husband, Eric Muller, have 5 children, Johanna, Rebekah, Jared, Evan & Danika. Lisa enjoys traveling, sports and reading.


William H. Behrens, CPA, ABV

William graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a concentration in accounting. He graduated with honors. William began his career with the firm Rue, Hutchison, DeGregori, Gormsen & Co. from 1977 through 1981 auditing at the junior and senior accountant levels, preparing income tax returns, and financial statements. William became a Certified Public Accountant in 1981. William was the Controller at Frey, Inc., a wholesale distributor of Armstrong Floor Covering, from 1981 through 1984. For the next 19 years, William was the Vice President and Chief Financial officer of Evans Telephone Company and Evans Communications where his responsibilities involved managing the accounting and purchasing departments. William gained extensive experience in telecommunications regulatory work, consolidated financial statements, consolidated income tax returns, consolidated budgets, and management of personnel, during his tenure. William joined Hillberg & Co., CPAs in 2005. During this time, he has gained extensive experience in business valuations, CFO type services, income tax preparation, and financial statement preparation. William has experience with agriculture, manufacturing, retail, service and telecommunications industries.

William is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. His community involvement includes being a member of the Turlock Rotary Club, as well as Board Member and Treasurer of the Turlock Regional Aviation Association.

William and Linda have 4 children, Brian, Sarah, James, and Grant. He enjoys spending time with his family, along with flying, quad riding and skiing.


Chris Barnes, CPA

Chris joined Hillberg & Co. in 2005. Chris has been steadily expanding his duties since then and now handles client bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax preparation and consulting. He also handles the maintenance of the firm’s technology.

Chris received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in Accounting at CSU Stanislaus in 2013 and earned his CPA license in 2014.

Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Deanna, and their dog Drake. Chris’ hobbies include reading, home improvement, traveling, and tinkering with computers.


Rinda Paine

After graduating from Modesto Junior College with an AA degree, Rinda worked for a plumbing company for 7 years as a bookkeeper. In 1982, Rinda joined Hillberg & Co., CPA's as a bookkeeper. Today, Rinda coordinates all client projects and organizes the firm's daily activities along with handling the firm's bookkeeping and payroll.

Rinda is a notary public and is a member of the National Notary Association.

Rinda and her husband, Steve, have two daughters, Jessica and Alicia. Rinda enjoys cooking, camping, going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends.


Angelina Chavez

Angelina graduated in 2001 from California State University Stanislaus with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. While studying at the University, Angelina worked for five years at Wells Fargo Bank as a bank teller. She joined Hillberg & Co., CPAs in 2000. Angelina specializes in business accounting, payroll and tax services. Angelina is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the Northern California Officials Association.

Angelina and her husband have 3 boys, Joseph, Sebastian & Noah. Angelina enjoys traveling, boating and spending time with her family and friends.


Deanna Cronk

Deanna joined Hillberg & Company CPA’s in 2008 as an Administrative Assistant. She is currently providing bookkeeping and trust accounting services to our clients as well as continued administrative support for the firm. Prior to joining the Hillberg team, Deanna was the Assistant to the Regional Controller of a local title company for seven years and gained valuable experience and knowledge working in financial settings since 1995.

Deanna and her husband, John, have two young children that keep them active. Aside from work and home, Deanna is also an Autism advocate for her son and always found front & center at her daughter’s theatre & dance performances. Deanna enjoys crafting, reading and weekend getaways with her family.





Natalie Urrutia

Natalie joined Hillberg & Co. in 2007 as a tax assembler. Natalie was soon promoted to Administrative Assistant. In 2008, Natalie was promoted to the Bookkeeping Department.

Natalie graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (accounting emphasis) from California State University, Stanislaus.

Natalie enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and going to the lake.


Beverly Hernandez

Beverly joined Hillberg & Co. in 2013 and her duties include client payroll and tax return assembly. Beverly has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from CSU Stanislaus in 2011. Prior to joining Hillberg & Co., Beverly worked at the Ceres Chamber of Commerce for two years.

Beverly enjoys reading, going on hikes, traveling, and learning to play the piano.





Lesa Canen

Lesa joined Hillberg & Co. in 2015 as an Administrative Assistant. Her previous positions have been in various fields but all have included some aspect of finance, including her 23 years working for a local media company.

Lesa is a notary public and is a member of the National Notary Association.

Lesa and her husband, Sam, have 3 children, and are blessed with 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Lesa enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren along with reading, working on crafts and is very involved in her church.
